Numeracy

Literacy and numeracy skills are essential in order for young people to reach their potential.

The National Literacy and Numeracy Framework (LNF) has been developed to help achieve our aim that the children of Wales are able to develop excellent literacy and numeracy skills during their time at school. In this section you can find all the latest information on the LNF.

You can explore the expectation statements, which set out the skills we expect learners to develop in school from ages 5 to 14. You can also view the guidance and training materials that are available to support the introduction of the LNF.

Learners and parents/carers will benefit from a clearer understanding of the literacy and numeracy skills, learning needs and progression that the LNF will provide.

Schools will be assisted in implementing the LNF by a comprehensive National Support Programme that is tailored to address the needs of individual schools, learners and teachers.

Sarah: 'Delete the information about the library.'

Pwy all ymuno â’r llyfrgell?

Gallwch ymuno â’r llyfrgell os ydych chi’n byw, yn gweithio neu’n astudio yn Sir Ddinbych neu yn un o’i siroedd cymdogol. Mae’r llyfrgell yn agored i bobl o bob oed – fyddwch chi byth yn rhy ifanc nac yn rhy hen i ymuno â’r llyfrgell!

Ymuno â’r llyfrgell ar-lein

Os byddwch yn ymuno â’r llyfrgell ar-lein, byddwch yn derbyn eich rhif aelodaeth a’r rhif PIN yn y post o fewn 10 diwrnod gwaith.  Pan fyddwch yn derbyn y rhain, byddwch yn gallu dechrau defnyddio catalog ar-lein y llyfrgell.

Gallwch hefyd fynd i’ch llyfrgell leol ac ymuno’n bersonol. Byddwn yn gofyn i chi am brawf adnabyddiaeth, fel trwydded yrru neu fil gwasanaeth. Yna byddwch yn gallu dechrau benthyca ar unwaith.

Who can join the library?

You can join the library if you live, work or study in Denbighshire, or one of its neighbouring counties. The library is open to people of all ages – you are never too young or too old to join the library!

Join the library on-line

If you join the library on-line, you will receive your membership number and PIN number in the post within 10 working days. When you receive these, you will be able to start using the online library catalogue.

You can also go to your local library and join in person. We will ask you for proof of identification, such as a driving licence or utility bill. You will then be able to start borrowing straight away.
